Overview
Fox Stars Production along With Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala is coming up with a new Hindi Bollywood movie titled ‘Kalank’ under the direction of Abhishek Varman. The lead artists that you would find on the Cinema screens are Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Datt. The main story is based on a Period Drama that was set in the era of Pre-Independence of India in 1945. The main shooting of this film began in April 2018. The initial release date for the movie was 19th April 2019 but to get the benefit of weekends the release date was changed to 17th April 2019.

Plot
The main concept of this movie was from Karan Johar and his father Yash Johar fifteen years back. At that time Madhuri Dixit’s role as Bahaar begum was given to Sridevi. Amrita Mahal, the main production designer, worked on the set designs that represented Old Delhi Mohalla along with a Mahal in the film city Mumbai. The owner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment (Sajid Nadiadwala) and Karan Johar were present on the clapshot of Kalank. It was reported that the costs of the sets were ₹15 crore.
Filming
The main filming of this movie started on 18th April 2018 in Film City, Mumbai. The first presence of Madhuri Dixit and Aditya Roy Kapur on the sets was seen on 31st May 2018. Filming for the theme song’s video featuring Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Kiara Advani along with around 500 backup dancers was completed by 7th May 2018. By 31st May 2018, the rehearsals for the second song video featuring Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kriti Sanon was started. A scene from the sets was leaked on 2nd June 2018 that showed Madhuri Dixit donning an Anarkali outfit. A few days later on 14th June 2018 actress, Sonakshi Sinha was seen on the sets for a fifteen days shooting schedule. Sonakshi Sinha has been paired with Aditya Roy Kapur in the movie. Few injuries were also reported during the shoot by Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Arjun Roy Kapur which postponed the shooting and the shooting was rescheduled after 2 weeks. By the time Sonakshi Sinha had finished her part in Kalank. Alia Bhatt announced that the wrapping of the shooting to be done on 19th January 2019.

The official trailer of this movie is uploaded on Youtube and it has got a big hype as it goes on the top of the Trending Page of Youtube in just 8 hours. The trailer shows that the movie is going to be very serious and romantic. The direction by Abhishek Varman seems very good as he has already taken the interest of people.

The title track in the voice of Arijit Singh has got more than 17million views on Youtube. This shows the love and interest of people on this song. Two more songs – First Class in the voice of Arijit Singh and Ghar More Pardesiya in the voice of Shreya and Vaishali has already been uploaded on youtube and both the songs have got enough love by the people. These songs are praised by many Bollywood sensations on their social media handles also. All the songs of this movie are composed by Pritam and the lyrics are by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

All the songs of this movie were uploaded on youtube and were used for the promotion of the movie. The trailer and teaser were uploaded on FoxStarHindi Youtube Channel while all the songs from the title track to Ghar More Pardesiya were uploaded on Zee Music Company. The promotion team has got their success in promotion as the trailer and the songs have got millions of view and are liked by lacs of people.
