Super 30 Review: Inspired by maths whiz Anand Kumar, who has a fabulous success rate for IIT admissions year after year with his batch of ‘Super 30’ kids, the film plots his motivating journey as some fictional account. The film portrays the life full of with controversies and hardships, Anand (Hrithik Roshan) literally rises from the rubble to mould his dreams.

He is a son of a postman, clinches an admission at the Cambridge University owing to his brilliance in mathematics. But when he has to let go of this opportunity of life solely because he is unable to afford the fees, life hits him hard and breaks his spirit. But that doesn’t last for too long as he got a job in a coaching Institution to teach Mathematics to IIT Aspirant by Lallanji (Aditya Srivastava). But soon, his true calling and passion catch up with him and he realizes that he must use his skills to give lesser privileged, bright students a fair chance at life. Of course, along the way, he faces opposition and obstacles one after another, but never loses sight of what he sets out to do.

‘Super 30′ drives home the message that education is truly the privilege of those who have access and economic resources’. But for many, it remains a distant dream because of a lack of money, but if they were given the same opportunities, then they can also shine equally bright. There are many moments in the film that will shatter you.

‘Super 30’ has several heartfelt, inspiring moments that touch your chord. When Anand says at one point, “Aapatti se aavishkar ka janm Hota hain”, you will believe him, especially after students of his batch leaving their impoverished lives behind and start daring to dream big.

But in the other half, the film’s lengthy run-time begins to weigh on the narrative. And some of the plot points bump into as far-fetched and to a fault dramatic, with the background score dominating some scenes unnecessarily. The Cinematographer (Anay Goswami) of the film, however, stands out and a few of the dialogues strike a note.

Acting: Hrithik Roshan accomplishes a solid performance essaying Anand Kumar, capturing his character’s sincerity and determination very well. He even copied his Bihar’s tone. His performance more than makes up for it. Nandish Singh has also done his role perfectly as Anand’s brother. Mrunal Thakur got very less screen time as compared to other frontline actor but done her role amazingly. Pankaj Tripathi as the dirty politician is brilliant and Aditya Srivastava matches the anti-protagonist villainy of his character.

Final Verdict: Despite some screenplay issues, super 30 is a story of a teacher who faces many challenges that life throws at him which sets an example to the world to see. And thus, it is more than worth to watch it.
